Rear-end collisions account for nearly one-third of all car accidents. How can you lessen the chance of a rear-end collision? What are some simple safety steps you can take? Watch the following video wherein we discuss three steps to avoid rear-end collisions. The full transcript is below.
As discussed, you can reduce the chances of a rear-end collision by following three safety steps.
First, keep a safe distance with the vehicle in front of you. By doing so, it will help you anticipate any sudden, unexpected stops by the driver in front of you.
Second, avoid all distractions. This includes texting, using the radio, and even eating. Bottom line, do not take any action which may take your eyes off of the road.
Third, always drive within the speed limit. When you are driving faster than the speed limit, it will be more difficult to brake and avoid a collision with the car in front of you.
