This month, we will review commonly seen road signs concerning bicyclists in Florida.

On South Florida roads, this is a commonly seen road sign:

May Use Full Lane Road Sign

What does this sign mean? It means that bicyclists my use the full lane – no different than operators of vehicles.

Often times, drivers think that under no circumstance can bicyclists use the full lane. But this is not true. In areas where roads narrow and there is not sufficient space for drivers and bicyclists to operate side by side, this sign indicates bicyclists may use the full lane.

So drivers, understand that this road sign means bicyclists may use the full lane!
